Bathroom Designs and Renovations for Small Spaces – Tips to Consider

Renovations are exciting. It gives you the chance of personalizing your house and bringing it to the current fashion trends. However, just like furnishing the house, some areas are usually more exciting to renovate than others. The sitting area, for instance, most people take time researching on what to do and who to bring in for the renovations because they know it is the one room all guests will see. And when it turns out great, they want to call for a party so that all their friends may see. What about the bathroom? Not so exciting right? Not all guests will go there and no one wants to be there for too long. So why should you care?

Though it’s not so public, it’s one of the places that are so private you want to be yourself. It’s where you have that automatic ‘me’ time. You are mostly alone; it has to be beautiful and efficient.

Here are a couple of things you will want to consider other than the usual:

The bathroom is one of the places where you are most unguarded. When you are in the shower, for instance, the last thing you want to worry about is falling down. All you want to do is relax and get clean. For this to be possible, you have to buy the right kind of tiles. Everything you buy for your bathroom, other than being beautiful, modern- or whatever you are looking for, it has to be safe.

Consider installing grab bars. No matter how safe everything you have bought for your bathroom is, accidents still may occur. Have grab bars installed in case of a fall.

Have a place for rest

I know, sounds funny. Rest in the bathroom? Who wants to stay in there for long? Showering is not just about getting clean. It is therapy for a tired body. It’s also a time to relax. Having a seat in the bathroom will allow you to make bath time a lot more relaxing.

A bathroom seat is not just for sitting, you can use it to support your legs when showering or even holding your stuff. Consider installing a fold up the bench. When you need it, you can fold it out. When you don’t, fold it up against that wall so it doesn’t take up too much space.

Stand with reading material

So apart from getting a tissue, towel and soap holder, consider bringing in a holder for books. To answer the question going through your mind; books in the shower? No. I meant books in the loo. Look at it this way. The loo is the only place you just sit and do nothing- well, almost nothing. How about you read a nice magazine while in there? It makes the whole experiencing mush better. So have a stand for your magazines, books or whatever you find interesting.

Have a niche

Instead of putting your shampoo, soap and anything your might need while showering, how about you have niches. It is not only stylish but also a great way to provide space for what you need. To make shower time more beautiful and relaxing, you could put candles there.
